Hi, can you please give me your expert opinion on what should I do regarding my thyroid problem: My last results of my TSH is 5.87( normal 0.40- 3.50), my FT4 is 11.5(9.9- 19.0), FT3is 5.1 (2.6 - 6.0). My Thyroglobulin Ab is 74( 0-40), and thyroid peroxide Ab is 10 (0-35). My doctor recommended me to start taking thyroxine tablets(50). Do you think I should do that or should I wait maybe couple months and do another test as maybe my TSH will go down naturally? Also would maybe some iodine supplements, like kelp in small dose help raise my TSH? Thank you for your answer, Tatjana
Hi I see your concern and I will inform you about your status. You have a case called Subclinical hypothyroidism. It is a mild form of hypothyroidism. I will recommend usage of levothyroxine as adviced by your doctor as you have positive Ab. I hope it was a clear answer. Regards
